One time when I was meeting with my boss, and he had said to me, “Don, you have such a passion for helping others and I’m sure you’ll be doing that sometime in your life.” That comment stuck with me. So, one day as I was at my computer, the idea for this business hit me. As I was investigating it, Will McColley, one of my mentees texted me. I thought that would be a great learning experience for Will. So, I asked Will if he wanted to be a part of this venture and he jumped in with both feet. That’s how mentorship.CLUB got started.
All successful business executives owe a debt to their mentors. Many high performing executives find it difficult to meet qualified mentees to whom to pay it forward. Mentorship.CLUB makes it affordable to Mentees and Mentors to gain that valuable interaction and learnings. We also offer each mentor the ability to offer 2 scholarships per year as (s)he sees fit. Also, we will hold between 2 and 4 Lion’s Den events (Shark Tank like events) allowing Mentees to present to a group of Mentors. This Lion’s Den gives vetted Mentees the ability to present their business ideas to a group of Mentors with the possibility to gain one or more as an investor in their business. We use the name, Lion’s Den due to the fact that Lions are one of the most vicious creatures on earth, yet a very protective animal when you are part of their pride. That truly captures the sense of the mentorship club.
Our Mentors are the best in the world and include people like former and current CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, people who have bought into companies and exited with great increases in value, entrepreneurs and represent multiple industries and are very diverse representing all colors, religions, LGBT communities and backgrounds. Diversity is very important to us.
